About Eleanor Pope, LCSW

I have had a fascination with interpersonal relationships for as long as I can remember. I grew up both overseas and in the US, which led to an interest in the ways in which culture impacts people. As a parent myself, I have been humbled by the emotional experience of caring for another more than yourself. I am grateful to live in Queens, where I meet people from all over the globe and from all walks of life.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in New York State. I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Macalester College, and a master’s degree in social work from the Columbia University School of Social Work. In my private practice, I have enjoyed working primarily with young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and relationship problems. I worked for many years at the Association to Benefit Children, with children and families facing a wide range of struggles, providing clinical supervision and mentorship for young therapists as well as growing and managing their outpatient mental health clinics. I continued my education at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, receiving intensive supervision in working with couples and families. I am currently training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) to enhance and deepen my individual work with adults. I have also provided DIR/Floortime to children on the autism spectrum and mental health consultation to early childhood programs.
